In a world where people are now spending 80-90% of their time at home amidst lockdowns and social isolation – I’m here to show you the joy of having your own space and the time to rediscover what got buried under overpacked schedules, changing nappies and hours of driving children around each day.
There is nothing that kills creativity like stress, overwhelm and a cluttered house. Are you a busy Mum that longs to create the home and life you so desire in your heart? You are in the right place.
Dive in with me as I walk you through this season of uncertainty and show you it IS possible to truly create something magnificent and worth working towards even in times of turmoil.

Hi, I’m Carmel. A wife to my kiwi husband of 11 years and proud mama of three children aged 1, 3 and 6 years. In 2009, just days after getting married, my beloved husband and I packed our few belongings into a couple large suitcases and flew across the Pacific Ocean to the islands of New Zealand.
The first five years of marriage we spent working long hours and trying not to kill each other before then deciding to settle down and start a family. The next five years I spent nesting at home while my husband worked. I had three successful natural pregnancies and births including having my two boys at home without any intervention.
In a quick span of a few years my life changed dramatically from being career driven to child driven.
Learning to parent isn’t easy and taking care of three children, 5 years and under was a steep learning curve – making sure everyone was clean, dressed and fed healthy food, struggling with the organic mess of three kids ripping around at home while still trying to nurture new friendships and invest time in my marriage and faith. I had no time leftover to focus on my own personal dreams and interests and was left feeling overwhelmed and defeated whenever my husband walked out the door to go to work.
‘Clean up, Declutter and Create’ – that was the first word I received after I renewed my faith following the birth of my second child. It took me three years of living intentionally to get to the place of creating freely again and pursuing passions and interests that were no longer buried under chaos and clutter.
I created The Kiwi Nest to share my journey and encourage other women to realise their dreams don’t have to be put on hold to build a nest and start a family!
My goal is to help Mums find joy in being at home, and create the space to rediscover their hopes and dreams.

Are you ready to take the next step towards creating a life and home you love?

Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.
